Free shipping, everywhere
We pay the shipping on every order, to every country we serve. The price shown on the product page is the price you pay us. No delivery charge is added at checkout, whatever the size of the rug or wherever it is going.
Made to order
Nothing sits in a warehouse. Each rug is hand tufted for you in Varanasi, India, after you order.
- Weaving: 2 to 4 weeks, depending on size and design. Larger or more intricate rugs take longer, and we will tell you before we begin if yours will.
- In transit: 7 to 14 business days after dispatch, tracked, worldwide, by FedEx.
- Total: allow roughly 3 to 6 weeks from order to doorstep.
You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your rug ships.
Import duty and taxes, please read
Your rug ships from India. Free shipping covers the cost of transport only. It does not cover import duty, customs charges, VAT or local sales tax.
If you are outside India, your country's customs authority may charge import duty or tax before releasing your parcel. These charges are set by your government, not by us. They are your responsibility, they are not included in the price you pay us, and we cannot predict, control or refund them.
Two recent changes make this more likely than it used to be. The United States suspended its USD 800 duty free allowance in August 2025, and the European Union removed its EUR 150 duty free threshold in 2026. Most orders to those destinations will now attract some duty regardless of value.
Your carrier will usually contact you to collect any charges before delivery. If a parcel is refused or abandoned because these charges were not paid, we can refund the rug only after it has been returned to us, less the cost of return carriage.

Worldwide. If your country is not selectable at checkout, email officialhandwovenheirlooms@gmail.com and we will almost always be able to arrange it.
Delays
Customs inspections, carrier backlogs and severe weather can add time. We will help you chase a delayed parcel, but we cannot be held responsible for delays once the rug is with the carrier or in customs.
Delivery addresses
Please check your address carefully before ordering. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or nobody could take delivery, we will send it again once you have covered the reshipping cost.
